Piano Moving in Budapest – in Every District

Öreg & Incze has been moving pianos and upright pianos in Budapest, in every district of the capital, since 1995. A third-generation family business, working with insurance and professional securing.

Upper floors, stairs, lifts

We move pianos and upright pianos to upper floors as well. If there is a lift, we take it into account in the quote. When carrying an instrument on stairs, we use professional securing and protection so that it arrives safely. Our prices include a per-floor surcharge:

  • Grand piano: +9,000 HUF per floor

Piano moving in Budapest: why is it different?

Within Budapest, piano moving is not only a question of distance: the narrow, winding staircases of turn-of-the-century apartment buildings in the inner districts and the steep driveways of houses on the Buda hillsides require different preparation than a lift in a housing estate. That is why we discuss the site with you before every job.

Where do we move pianos in Budapest?

We move pianos and upright pianos in all 23 districts of the capital:

  • Buda side: District I (Castle District), II, III (Óbuda), XI (Újbuda), XII (Hegyvidék), XXII (Budafok-Tétény)
  • Inner Pest districts: V (Belváros-Lipótváros), VI (Terézváros), VII (Erzsébetváros), VIII (Józsefváros), IX (Ferencváros), XIII (Újlipótváros, Angyalföld)
  • Outer Pest districts: IV (Újpest), X (Kőbánya), XIV (Zugló), XV (Rákospalota), XVI (Mátyásföld), XVII (Rákosmente), XVIII (Pestszentlőrinc), XIX (Kispest), XX (Pesterzsébet), XXI (Csepel), XXIII (Soroksár)

Typical Budapest locations

  • Old apartment buildings without a lift: in the inner districts, tall-ceilinged, multi-storey buildings without a lift are common. We charge a per-floor surcharge here; the width and turns of the staircase are decisive.
  • Panel buildings: many have a lift, but the cabin may be small, so it is worth agreeing its dimensions in advance.
  • Family houses and villas: on the Buda side, garden steps or steep driveways are common; it helps to show them in a photo.
  • Schools, music schools, restaurants and event venues: we also move instruments for companies and institutions.

Timing and parking

We work seven days a week, including weekends and public holidays. In the city centre, parking and access can affect how the job goes, so for tricky locations we agree on the details in advance.
